How California measures performance

  • CAASPP (Smarter Balanced) tests in ELA and Math for grades 3–8 and 11.
  • ELPAC tests English learner proficiency.
  • CAST is the science test (grades 5, 8, and high school).
  • The CA Dashboard combines these with absenteeism, suspensions, and graduation into a color-coded status across 13 indicators.
